2001 Catalina 470 — “Another October” The Catalina 470 packs genuine liveaboard volume into an easily handled 47-footer, and this wing-keel example is a well-kept case in point. Another October is currently on the hard at Larsen’s in Waukegan, Illinois, on Lake Michigan’s western shore, so her hull and underbody are open for unhurried inspection. She was cleaned inside and out this season in preparation for sale.

SAIL HANDLING

In-mast furling mainsail and roller furling genoa put the entire sail plan under cockpit control. A rigid boom vang and a large adjustable mainsheet traveler allow proper mainsail shaping, and all control lines lead aft to stoppers and winches. Deck hardware is Harken: self-tailing primaries, a self-tailing cabintop winch to port, and an electric halyard/mainsheet winch on the starboard cabintop.

DECK & COCKPIT

A hard dodger plus bimini and connector canvas give the center cockpit real all-weather shelter. Twin independent manual steering stations, cockpit table, cockpit cushions and a cockpit shower round out the space topsides.
